Cierpiał, że ze swoim 6-latkiem może odjechać na co najwyżej kilka kilometrów. Kombinował jak przekazać część mocy synowi i jeździć dalej, bez marudzenia na 5-tym czy nawet 9-tym kilometrze. Wdrożenie pomysłu zaczął od prowizorycznych rozwiązań. Po kilku latach testów, wymyślania rozwiązań problemów i kolejnych sprintach z inżynierami wypracował hol w postaci linki z bezpiecznym ryglem, który rozłącza rowery po ewentualnym upadku holowanego, jak też przy hamowaniu i wyprzedzaniu. Na rynku dostępne są substytuty, jednak nie zapewniają kluczowej funkcji, jaką jest bezpieczeństwo, bądź nie są skierowane do odpowiedniej grupy wiekowej.
