Dee passed away in the early morning hours on March 14, 2018. Dee fought a courageous but ultimately losing battle with cancer. Dee and I found about the cancer on 8/30/2016. At that point it was already classified at Stage IV having metastasized to Dee’s lumbar spine. Dee underwent radiation therapy and then a complete round of chemotherapy which ended on 4/7/17. Dee had been non-ambulatory without a walker since onset but enjoyed an all too brief respite from mid-July until December 2017. During this time, Dee was able to climb stairs, shop and eat at restaurants. CT scans showed a cancer recurrence despite Dee’s physical improvement necessitating a second round of chemo. T...
