Many RNs commenced their nursing career as Certified Nursing Helpers, or CNAs, by completing CNA training courses. While CNA training programs differ according to the state, most CNAs must complete 16 hours of hands-on coaching, known as "clinicals," and 75 hours of in-class course work. Some institutions offer distance learning CNA classes. But traditional training is finished at nursing homes, health-care facilities and junior universities. Depending on the office, CNA job requirements will change.
