Alicia Izharuddin Skip to content Alicia Izharuddin Alicia Izharuddin is a sociologist of religion and gender, and Senior Visiting Fellow in Gender and Sexuality in the Malay Studies Department at the National University of Singapore from January 2023 where she teaches courses on gender in Southeast Asia and Malay-Indonesian cinema. She was previously a research fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies at Leiden University where she finished writing her second book on affective Muslim publics. She has held research and teaching positions at the Women’s Studies in Religion Program at Harvard Divinity School and the Gender Studies Programme at University of Malaya.
