Not being approachable to any of the existing six DTEA schools, the local Tamil community in Janakpuri acquired a land of their own, erected few wooden sheds, and started teaching children in an informal way. A handful of teachers, not all of them qualified, drawn from the immediate neighbourhood were employed on an ad hoc basis.
