Dengan hitung-hitungan bodoh aja maka, bila persentase muslim Indonesia adalah 86% maka jumlah pemilih muslim adalah 170 juta x 86% = 146 jutaan, sedangkan non muslim adalah 170 juta x 14% = 24 jutaan. Dengan pendekatan pessimistic non scientific, anggap saja 40% dari muslim itu golput. Dengan data dari persentase golput pilkada lalu, terlihat daerah-daerah yang mayoritas penduduknya muslim ternyata memiliki angka golput yang tinggi, rata-rata 40%, sedangkan daerah yang mayoritas non muslim seperti Bali, NTT, Maluku, dan Papua malah memiliki angka golput yang rendah dengan rata-rata 20%.
