While my mom’s life was saved in a Cuban hospital, I have to say it was thanks to the tenacity and perseverance of the doctors and not to the “health system”. When she entered the emergency room there was a lack of a huge number of medicines; liver sutures, sedatives, antibiotics, anesthesia and on and on. How did mom get through that?
