Σε όλους είναι γνωστές οι στοές εξόρυξης μαρμάρου, (η στοά των Νυμφών και του Πανός) του περίφημου λυχνίτη, στο Μαράθι Πάρου. (εικ.1) Λίγο πιο πέρα, στην ίδια περιοχή υπάρχουν επίσης οι θέσεις εξόρυξης στους "'λάκκους" στις "σπηλιές" και στα "θαψανά". Όλες οι παραπάνω θέσεις είναι καταγεγραμμένες στο σημαντικότατο και πολυτιμότατο πόνημα των κκ. Γ. Κοκκόρου-Αλευρά, Ε. Πουπάκη, Α. Ευσταθοπουλου, Α. Χατζηκωνσταντίνου "Corpus αρχαίων λατομείων από τους προϊστορικούς έως τους μεσαιωνικούς χρόνους" Αθήνα 2014. Στη σελίδα 136, λήμμα 487 σημειώνεται επίσης το υπαίθριο λατομείο μαρμάρου στον "Κάραβο" στον Κώστο. Επισημάνθηκε πρώτη φορά από τον Rubenshon το 1900 τον Αλιπράντη 1996 τους D. Αttanasio, Μ. Brilli και N. Ogle το 2006 τους M. Bruno, L. Lazz...
