Που έφυγε από τον κόσμο τούτο την περασμένη Κυριακή για να συναντήσει στα ουράνια τον Σίμωνα, τη Δόμνα και άλλα αγαπημένα πρόσωπα. Η σύναξη που συγκροτήθηκε στην Αγία Ειρήνη βουρκωμένη κήδευσε τον δάσκαλο του γένους, αφού αφιέρωσε τη ζωή του στην ιερουργία της μουσικής. Όσο υπήρχε ο Λυκούργος έψαλλε τη δόξα του Θεού, ήτανε επικεφαλής στις περιφορές του Επιταφίου στα σοκάκια και τις λεωφόρους του ιστορικού κέντρου, έψαλλε μοναδικά κάθε Μεγάλη Τρίτη το τροπάριο της Κασσιανής. Και ο κόσμος έρρεε εκεί, στην Αγία Ειρήνη. Για να ακούσει και να λειτουργηθεί. Για να απολαύσει και να κατηχηθεί. Για να σηκώσει τα μάτια ψηλά στον θόλο και να προσευχηθεί. Και ο Λυκούργος αρχιτεκτονούσε αυτή την απίστευτη μουσική πανδαισία όπου ήταν περιττός κάθε ψίθυρος, και δεν είχες μυαλό για άλλε...
