locuri în Bucureşti... joi, august 01, 2013 Opt vitralii Aşa se face că biserica noastră a ajuns vestită prin vitraliile ei superbe şi că i s-a dat hramul sfîntului Nicolae - patronul copiilor, graţie administratorului rămas anonim. Biserica are opt vitralii laterale ; în schiţele lui Houtekiet fuseseră prevăzute douăsprezece, dar la rugămintea lui Baert, s-a renunţat la patru dintre ele, cîte două pe fiecare latură, sub cuvînt că într-o biserică nu e cazul să fie prea multă lumină ; în realitate, însă, din motive de economie. Cele opt vitralii laterale înfăţişează singurele episoade cunoscute din viaţa sfîntului Nicolae. În primul vitraliu, sfîntul se plimbă înconjurat de copii ; doi copii, pe care-i ţine în braţe, îi mîngîie barba. În cel de-al doilea vitraliu, un măcelar, c-un topor la brîu, prinde trei copii care fug. În al treilea vitraliu, măcelarul taie cu toporul unul din aceşti copii ; deşi vitraliul e privit de jos în sus, căpşorul copilului poate fi văzut atîrnînd ...
