It’s not Covid, but I’m feeling awful so staying in and have my old masks on standby (reusable ones from 2020 – I do wash them!). Then my day of aches and sniffles was absolutely turned around by this little fellow. We think we have a nest in the garden somewhere, and so have set up a Snack Bar on the top of our old coal bin. He was hopping about looking for food, as the coconut had been finished by local blackbirds. So I quickly got myself dressed and shot outside to refresh the food supply… and within minutes, he was happily pecking away. Last Spring, we saw the babies go from tiny feathered spheres to proper adult birds. I wonder if this is one of them – and if we’ll have new additions next year.
