If somethin’s gettin’ burned, somethin’s gettin’ hot, and I like that. I’ve also recently come to appreciate the custard, whereas in my younger days I thought ‘why waste dessert on something that’s not cake?’ Don’t get me wrong, I still think flan is the stuff of nightmares, deserving of retirement à la green, canned-fruit-stuffed jello molds.
