Exploring Baseball Data with R Exploring Baseball Data with R Home Authors Analyzing Baseball Data with R R-bloggers Obtaining Game Results using the sabRmetrics Package By Jim Albert on October 3, 2024 | Leave a comment A New Data Acquisition Package Scott Powers has recently introduced the R package sabRmetrics (I like the name) that facilitates the collection of a variety of different baseball datasets. These include game results, pitch/play/game data from statsapi.mlb.com, and pitch spin and swing data from  baseballsavant.mlb.com. In addition, Scott includes functions for computing runs expectancies in bases/outs situations and fitting the quadratic trajectory of a pitch.
