Juli 2019 Oliver Nagel Keine Kommentare Nachdem „State of the Union“ (Sundance, 2019) mich angenehm überrascht hatte, wollte ich „Juliet, Naked“ (2018) nun doch noch sehen: die Verfilmung von Nick Hornbys gleichnamigem Roman, in der (wie in „State of the Union“) Chris O’Dowd eine der Hauptrollen, oder eher: die zentrale Nebenrolle spielt. Der Roman hatte mich damals eher kalt gelassen; zu konstruiert wirkte auf mich der Plot: Da ist der College-Lehrer Duncan, dessen Obsession mit einem lange untergetauchten amerikanischen Rockstar seine Beziehung zu Lebensgefährtin Annie doch einigermaßen belastet, ist sie doch beileibe nicht annähernd so ein großer Fan von Tucker Crowe und seinem Werk — einer einzigen Platte namens „Juliet“ — wie Duncan.
