CAPT History & Merger with M&BF   The Center for Applications of Psychological Type (CAPT ® ) In 2023 CAPT merged with the Myers & Briggs Foundation. The staff, resources, and services formerly under CAPT can now be found at Myers & Briggs Foundation .   In 1975, Isabel Briggs Myers and Mary McCaulley, Ph.D., started CAPT as a nonprofit research and training institute for psychological type and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI ® ) instrument and system. For decades, CAPT was a leader in type research and education, producing the first computerized scoring program for the MBTI instrument, the initial MBTI qualifying program for professional use, and the innovative Selection Ratio Type Table (SRTT) computer program. At one time, CAPT was the largest publisher of books on psychological type. Today, the spirit and enthusiasm of CAPT and its founders is carried forward in research and education at Myers & Briggs Foundation. M&BF continues to administer the national MBTI...
