No idea why I couldn't et a crystal clear picture... Oh, well. Anyway... CLAM PIE 2 cups flour 1 cup shortening, butter or margarine 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons of ice water 2 tablespoons of butter 2 tablespoons of flour 2 cups half light cream, half clam liquor 1 dozen clams, coarsely chopped 4 hard boiled eggs For crust, measure flour into bowl. Add shortening (the notable cooks usually used lard for half the shortening and butter for the other half). Mix flour and shortening to make the finest crumbs. Stir in salt. Add water a tablespoon at a time and stir in with a fork. Gather up about 3/4 of the mixture, press to hold crumbs together, then roll out to make a circle.
