Κλαδιά κατάξερα πεύκων με γρατζούνιζαν και ζουζούνια με γαργαλούσαν. Δεκτικός σε κάθε αίσθηση. Μύριζε το ρετσίνι, πιο συγκεκριμένος ο κόσμος από κάποιον χωμένο σ'ένα αρωματικό πευκοδάσος δε γίνεται. Το Μάη στο Hampstead heath είχα χαθεί μέσα στα δέντρα και έβρεχε, ο αέρας μύριζε ελάχιστα, μούχλα και βροχή, κανένα αιθέριο έλαιο, τόσο εύφορο χώμα και καμμιά μυρωδιά. Εδώ όλα είναι του χεριού σου, το δάσος πάντα μικρό, η θάλασσα ποτέ τόσο μεγάλη ώστε να μη βλέπεις ένα απέναντι νησί, ένα βράχο. Ο κόσμος σε compact έκδοση.
