It was mentioned in one of the moodle books that in 2017, NAPLAN writing tasks will be marked by computers and I just could not believe it! I mean, this is just my opinion but how in the world can a computer mark a student’s writing capability?? I don’t understand how a computer could ever replace a person in marking a writing task on any sort of test. Computers are not able to make educated judgement calls on students writing and they are not able to decipher every student’s writing. We cannot fully trust that a computer will give the correct mark for a writing task. Sorry about the rant, but I just had to get this of my chest. Computers will mark NAPLAN in 2017??? What in ...
