Home - CKAP Home Awards and Certificates Contact Us Select Page Canadian Kilometer Achievement Program Celebrating 50 years in 2025 CKAP members have cycled over 36 million km since 1975 ABOUT US The Canadian Kilometer Achievement Program (CKAP) is a fitness incentive awards program for cyclists to improve their health and lifestyle. CKAP, established in 1976 as the Canadian Mileage Achiever Program (CMAP), became CKAP when the metric system came into everyday use. In the run-up to the 1976 Montreal Olympics, groups of cyclists from across Canada were cycling to Montreal. Building on the excitement around the Olympics, Tom Parry, a Director at the Ontario Cycling Association, founded CKAP to encourage cyclists to log their cycling distances and metaphorically participate in the Olympic Goal.
