Veleggiando verso le INDIE Veleggiando verso le INDIE Storie di slow travelling tra Occidente e Oriente ARTE E DEGRADO/Sicilia, il garage per dirigibili di Augusta Augusta (Siracusa), 22 dicembre 2024 Andando a zonzo sulla costa sud orientale della Sicilia, mi sono ritrovata davanti a un incredibile retaggio storico-militare: un hangar per dirigibili . Si trova nella rada di Augusta, città strategica della marina militare e uno dei porti di sbarco degli Alleati nel luglio 1949. L'hangar visto dal retro (Foto di Maria Grazia Coggiola) In realtà ero andata a visitare il borgo marinaro di Brucoli, meta iper turistica, poi sono stata attirata dal profilo della raffineria, che domina il paesaggio di Augusta. L'impianto, ex Esso ora algerino, è un pezzo importante dell'economia siciliana e anche potenzialmente una bomba ecologica .
