The purpose of this site is to make some important books, articles and manuscripts relevant to the study of Coptic phonology available to a wide audience. Unfortunately, at present the majority of scholarly works pertinent to the field are inaccessible to all but a few who have access to large libraries. I believe a study of the sounds of the Coptic language, both at present and in the past, is essential for anyone interested in the language. It is unfortunate that an informed discussion is often hindered by the lack of easily accessible sources.
