Perhaps this is evidence that I’m getting old but it really feels like it’s passed in the blink of an eye. For the first time since I was 23, I am not in full-time employment. I love being able to say that being made redundant was one of the best things that has happened to me. I still have the stability of a permanent job for three days a week, but I work freelance on the other two days. What I like and don’t like about my work has started to crystallise and I feel like I’m finding ways to increase the former and decrease the latter. I’m hopeful that I’ll get to a point in the relatively near future when I don’t need to work full-time anymore and have more time to pursue other things that are important to me.
