One of the strongest is that Alex Salmond and the other Yes campaigners strike me as the worst examples in British politics since Tony Blair of ‘just wish for whatever you want to happen, and denounce anyone who says that this might not occur’. If Salmond et al really were serious about a Scandinavian-style Scottish social democracy, they’d at least have done some thinking about the basic economics of the transition.
