My research explores the role of religious traditions in debates over ethics, politics, and culture. To this end, I have written on neoliberalism , sexuality , atheism , and the arts . I have recently been reflecting on the inequalities exposed by the covid-19 pandemic - and the power of solidarity to address them. Since secular democracies are marked by a religious heritage, I think the study of religion clarifies the context of contemporary debates, and it offers resources anyone may draw on, regardless of their own commitments.
