She came to live with us when my dad was drafted in 1943 to serve in WWII and stayed until a year before her death in 1966. She was helpful, kind, patient and unselfish -- a great example. I never heard arguments between her and my parents, although it was not easy for her to give up her independence. I read a two page account of my great-great grandmother's life, which was unimaginably rich and way too short (the account, that is).
