Dari jumlah penderita HIV/AIDS di Jabar per Maret 2007 sebanyak 2.513 orang. Dari jumlah itu sekitar 66 persennya bersumber dari pengguna napza. Menurut Humas Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA) Jabar, Tri Irwanda, faktor risiko terbesar adalah napza diikuti oleh heteroseksual. ”Kedua penyebab ini sebenarnya mempunyai korelasi,” katanya kepada Republika, Selasa (3/7). Tri menjelaskan, penderita HIV/AIDS dari napza sebanyakl 1.678 kasus. Dengan adanya harm reduction di antaranya pertukaran jarum suntik, membawa pengaruh positif untuk jumlah HIV/AIDS.
