Struggling for air I think of the days when disappointment lights his eyes sun refracting on sea-water from my words and wants tossed out haphazardly. Last week’s left-over pasta that I cannot let go grown into unmanageable proportions wholly rotten, but mine to own. Some afternoons I rush to take out the trash before he gets home, opening windows to air out the words, to disguise the revolting wanting,  a task born out of love when I want him to think today is enough. Most often I hold myself apart      afraid afraid to let my mind wander to the beginning to his hands in my hair when breath fogged the windows and the mountain stood...
