I feel awkward using the word slut-shaming because of its libfem associations, but I can’t think of anything catchier. ‘Policing young women’s sexualities’ doesn’t quite do it. I’ve been thinking about how this has affected me and about how economic class affects it. I’ve no doubt that race and culture do, as well. I’m interested in hearing other women’s experiences of it from a non-libfem perspective. When I was growing, there was a huge panic about girls getting pregnant. This was because many girls  did  get pregnant. Sex education was inadequate to say the least (faith school) and there weren’t many career opportunities unless you managed to do well academically.
