Victor Brown\’s Catholic Daily Message   About Posted by: fvbcdm | July 30, 2024 Feast of Saint Peter Chrysologus (30 July 2024) July 30 is the commemoration day of St. Peter Chrysologus, a northern Italian bishop and doctor of the Church whose nickname “Chrysologus” means “the golden word.”  He was given that name because of the beauty and value of his preaching.  As we read the passage from his writings in today’s Office of Readings, I was struck by what he says regarding the incarnation of Our Lord.  He says, “That the Creator is in his creature and God is in the flesh brings dignity to man without dishonor to him who made him.”  In simple English, that means that our Creator (God) became a creature (man). Our Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man, creator and creature, divine and human, eternal and in time.  And this action by which God lowers himself to become one of his own creatures in no way dishonors God, but rather...
