There's a lot said and published about Fasting Ramadan during a pandemic. It's possible that too much is being said about it, though I understand the trial and the feelings it causes. But there has always been a private, if not an isolated, aspect to ritual fasting--this voluntary privation as a rite of worship, a sacred epistemology, that is, a pathway to knowledge that can only be attained by way of religious rites.
