October, 2015 The lights of Downtown Chengdu . We always felt safe walking around at night. And there is always something to see, to hear, and to experience. So many people everywhere. There is even a word for this environment – 热闹 (re nao – “ loud lively “)! It can be irritating at times when you just want to get alone, but, when I went back to the US for a few months, it seemed too quiet. I really should have uploaded accounts of our five years in China earlier than this. Part of the problem is the tremendous opportunities we have had to travel since we left China in 2017. Only some of those destinations made it into this blog. Well, better late than never.
