As an adult my mixed connective tissue disease improved however, I became incredibly used to my new ‘norm’ of regular headaches, migraines, lethargy, arthritic pains, tiredness, avoiding physical activity from fear of overdoing it (note: I openly hate exercise) and whatever virus was on the move at the time. At 20, I decided that I didnt want to continue down the same painful path, take medication for the rest of my life or be in a wheelchair at 30 because my joints couldn’t hack it.
