Gluejar, Inc. What is Gluejar? Since 1998, Gluejar, Inc. has been in the business of advancing internet infrastructure for libraries, publishers, researchers, and readers of all types. From 1998-2005, the company was known as "Openly Informatics, Inc." We were best known for our work on the OpenURL link-server, 1Cate, and for our industry-leading linking knowledgebase. On January 1, 2006, the Openly Informatics business and name were sold to OCLC, Inc . The corporate entity was renamed Gluejar, Inc. Gluejar was inactive until 2009. In 2009, Gluejar's founder, Eric Hellman , started the Go To Hellman blog . The meager sums earned by his writing belong to Gluejar. Eric provides consulting services in 2 areas: Helping libraries and library systems vendors understand the privacy implications of their internet services.
