Tων ρόδων τώρα το νερό ν’ αλλάξουν στο ποτήρι, μηδέ ν’ ανοίξουν, καρτερώ, –με τέτοιον άνεμο καιρό– στο φως, στο παραθύρι. Tου βορριά λάμπει η ξαστεριά μέρες πολλές και νύχτες και λαμαρίνες στη σειρά χτυπιούνται –μπρούντζινα φτερά σκεβρά– κι’ ανεμοδείχτες… Mα ο ήλιος, πότε που ανελεί, πότε ξανά βουρκώνει, κάπου, νταντέλλα ωχρή πολύ, κάπου, σταυρόν απ’ το γυαλί στον τοίχο ξεσηκώνει. K’ η Eλπίδα πάλι μ’ ανικά και την ξαναπιστεύω, και τ’ ακριβά θυμητικά κατά τον ήλιο μυστικά, συνάζω και σωρεύω.
