Maka sangat bisa dimengerti bagaimana beratnya Maryam menghadapinya seorang diri. Sudahlah tak ada suami, bidan apalagi. Hanya bersandar di bawah pohon kurma menghadapi persalinan seorang diri. Maka bisa dimengerti, bebannya kala itu, sampai-sampai ia berkata, “Yaa laitaniy mittu qobla hadza wakuntu nasyan mansiyya.” QS. Maryam: 23 “Wahai, betapa (baiknya) aku mati sebelum ini dan aku menjadi seorang yang tidak diperhatikan dan dilupakan.” Kalimat ini, seolah kalinat depresi bukan? Putus asa dan pengen mati saja. Maka jangan anggap bualan bahwa ibu pasca melahirkan itu beban fisik dan psikisnya berpotensi jadi depresi. Lalu Jibril datang kepada Maryam dan berseru padanya, “Laa tahzaniy… jangan kamu bersedih.” Kemudian Jibril berkata agar Maryam menggoyangkan pangkal pohon kurma agar menggugurkan buahnya.
