Allí, desde donde se ven los pueblos de Acrijos y Fuentebella, dominando un barranco que hubiéramos cantado profundo y solemne, pero que a partir del día 3 de septiembre de 1936 hemos de llamarlo triste mausoleo, allí, repito, los nietos de Antonio Cabrero, Ander y Maite, y Omar, el bisnieto, colocaron hace unos años un monolito en homenaje a él y a Valentín Llorente, su último compañero de vida y el único, para siempre, de muerte. Nunca pudieron encontrar sus cuerpos, nunca les han olvidado, y por allí van de vez en cuando por si el eco de sus canciones pudiera llegar hasta las hierbas, flores, y algún arbolillo nacido con la simiente de ellos.
