Tugu menghubungkan Kraton dan Gunung Merapi, jadi bila ditarik garis lurus akan tercipta suatu garis antara Kraton-Tugu-Gunung Merapi. Jaman dahulu sebelum dibangun gedung-gedung, garis tersebut sangat terlihat jelas apabila dilihat dari Kraton. Bagi anda yang orang Jogja ataupun dari luar jogja yang belum pernah memegang tugu, waaaah ga gaul coi!!! Setiap malam, Tugu dibanjiri oleh anak-anak muda yang asyik “bernarsis ria” di depan tugu. Memang aneh sih foto-foto di depan tugu yang terletak di tengah-tengah perempatan jalan raya, tapi kan ini malam hari, coba kalau siang hari pasti pasti jadi pusat perhatian hahahaha.
