This was a lot of work, a lot of fun, and it went really well until the painting phase. More on that later. I followed pretty closely the plan in The Stick Chair Journal . The seat is poplar, and the rest is oak. I learned a ton doing this. I plan to build more of them, and am confident the build time will be less than a year after a few repetitions. I’ve now built a couple stools, two other chairs, and this first arm chair. I want nothing to do with vanity names, but want to keep track of them somehow (I think). So for now, this is Seat 5.
