We can be afraid of how others will respond to our truth. We may be afraid of being rejected, kicked out, ghosted, cancelled. This isn’t new to us, to our time. People, even in Jesus’ time were afraid of speaking truth to power to peers to family and friends. John 12: 42-43 On the other hand, a considerable number from the ranks of the leaders did believe. But because of the Pharisees, they didn’t come out in the open with it. They were afraid of getting kicked out of the meeting place.
