Cand stau singur, langa scara rulanta de la metrou si pe langa mine trec sute de oameni, ma gandesc ca poate printre ei sunt si vechi amici din vremurile bune, dar nu indraznesc sa-i privesc. Umilinta este cheia, cu cat este mai tremuratoare mana intinsa cu atat se largeste buzunarul celor care care se simt datori sa fie generosi. Candva, demult, nu-mi pasa de nimeni si de nimic, acum imi este in permanenta frica. Frica de ziua de azi, de caralii, de sutii de buzunare, de ceilalti cersetori dar mai ales de oamenii grabiti care trec acum pe langa mine, ignorandu-ma asa cum ignori gunoaiele pe care le aduna vantul la gura metroului. Pentru ei, eu si gunoaiele suntem egali chiar daca eu respir, ma misc si la urma urmei...
