Αυτό προκύπτει από τα τελευταία στοιχεία για τα έτη 2015-2017 που παρουσίασε ο Παγκόσμιος Οργανισμός Υγείας (ΠΟΥ) στο συνέδριο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης για την Μελέτη της Παχυσαρκίας στη Βιέννη. Τα χαμηλότερα ποσοστά παιδικής παχυσαρκίας, από 5% έως 9% του συνόλου των παιδιών, υπάρχουν σε Γαλλία, Νορβηγία, Ιρλανδία, Λετονία και Δανία.
