Ο πρότερος βίος μου στεφάνι κι έξω. Τώρα το κεφάλι μου μπάλα σπυριάρα, τσουλάει άστοχη στις απότομες κατηφόρες της Αμφιάλης, στην Καστέλα κι αλλού. Πλήθος μεγάλο οι γκιλοτίνες, φτώχεια καταραμένη, χωρισμοί, αδιέξοδα. Με γάμπες εξαντλημένες, μύες καμένους, τρέχω και μπουρδουκλώνομαι να με προλάβω. Θα συναρμολογηθώ. Ω Μαίρη Σέλλεϋ, έπρεπε στα αλήθεια να με επινοήσεις, είμαι ένα τέρας κυνηγημένο! Βγαίνω ξανά στο πεζοδρόμιο ακροποδητί. Με ένα μεγάλο δίκοπο μαχαίρι στο στόμα μου δαγκωτό, μιμούμαι τις κινήσεις των κομάντος. Κάθε μου λαχάνιασμα στρέφει το μαχαίρι σε μένα, το σπρώχνω, το εισπνέω, μου σχίζει τα μάγουλα. Αποκτώ ένα πλατύ, απελπισμένο αιματηρό χαμόγελο. Ίδια γεύση το αίμα και το μέταλλο της λάμας. Ικανός μόνο για έγκλημα ή αγάπη. Διαλέγω το δρόμ...
