My apartment happens to be across the street from the Roger Maris Cancer Center in downtown Fargo, North Dakota, so I walk to my appointments, which are frequent since I’m getting daily radiation alongside chemotherapy. On chemo day, Thursday, I pop over to the hospital to get zapped, then head to the infusion center. Dr. Failing, my chemo oncologist, is at his outreach clinic today, so my evaluation appointment is with Susan, one of the nurse practitioners. ] It goes well until I show her the rash on my arms....
