Η Τοσκάνη υπήρξε το λίκνο μιας καλλιτεχνικής επανάστασης με μεγάλη επιρροή και διάρκεια. Στα αριστουργήματα της γίνεται αντιληπτό στον επισκέπτη η μετάβαση από την μεσαιωνική τέχνη στην κλασική ομορφιά της Αναγέννησης. Η μεσαιωνική τέχνη ήταν αφιερωμένη στην προσευχή και στο στοχασμό, ενώ οι τοιχογραφίες της αναγέννηση κοσμούσαν εκκλησίες ,δημόσια κτίρια και μέγαρα. Το τοπίο της Τοσκάνης έχει πλούσια χλωρίδα και πανίδα. Φλωρεντία. Το ιστορικό κέντρο της Φλωρεντίας δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα μεγάλο, είναι ομαδοποιημένο σε τέσσερεις περιοχές .
