I think it appropriate to dedicate a few words to him now, even though I don’t have the time for a proper obituary. MarkTwain White, or Mark, or ‘MTW’ as we commonly called him, had a role in Second Life Sailing that can hardly be understated. After Kanker Greenacre created the Flying Tako, he founded one of the first yacht clubs in Second Life: Starboards Yacht Club. As a leader of the United Sailing Sims he played a pivotal role in the sailing community in the early years and paved the way for the creation of Blake Sea and the Linden Partnership Programs.
