The sound of it falling off my tongue makes me feel, I don’t know, a little bolshy. Like I’m in the know of these “Riley’s” and their attitudes. It makes me think of the third child in a family who gets away with everything the first two didn’t. Without a care in the world. If I’d had three boys the third, most definitely would have been named Riley. In the 70’s when my parents split up, my Dad went off to Australia and was a living rendition of that exact phrase. He’d been a teenager when he became a father and then suddenly in his mid 20’s he was free and single to travel around. It was like it was a way out for him.
