Kata ini dalam bahasa sehari-hari sering digunakan untuk menjelaskan tentang penyebutan nominal uang (ketimbang menyebutnya dua puluh lima ribu). Di suatu pagi ketika saya sedang berkunjung ke kandang luwak kepunyaan salah satu pengusaha kopi luwak di kawasan perbukitan Bandung, saya meminta bantuan kepada salah satu pekerja kandang untuk membelikan bahan makanan agar saya dapat memasak makanan selama saya berada di sana. Secara sengaja saya memberikan uang lebih agar uang sisa belanja bisa saya berikan kepadanya, sesederhana karena ingin berbagi rejeki yang walaupun tidak seberapa. Singkat cerita, pulanglah pekerja tadi dari warung dengan membawa telor, tahu, tempe, beras dan kerupuk. Diapun memberikan uang sisa belanja, kurang lebih dua puluh lima ribu.
