Ho scelto Airbag dei Radiohead come canzone da ascoltare dal lettore mp3 nella mia prima passeggiata solitaria lungo la 51esima verso la Broadway, e poi giù ancora fino a Time Square e il Greenwich Village. L’ho scelta perché inizia con un suono di chitarra che secondo me è un decollo, e da quando vedo aerei decollare, per me è sempre significato decollare per arrivare qui. Le sirene delle auto di pattuglia in questa città scretchano come guidate da un dj, partono e si spengono subito: sentirle come sottofondo della musica da auricolare ha il suo perchè. Sono quasi le sette e la luce è quella giusta, scatto alcune foto. Noto delle scarpe molto belle al 2020 di Broadway ma costano 230 dollari e mi dico che ho ancora del tempo per pensarci. Mi pentirò perché non passerò più di lì, come a dire che gli errori...
