Mad for Knit Mad for Knit A madness for all things knit. Now with added quilting. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 Freshwater Chevrons Quilt Hurrah! Another gift finished in time! This is the Chevron pattern from Kaffe Fassett's Quilt Road. I bought the fabric in the January sales and have been quietly working on a few squares here and there. The pattern is ridiculously easy but the awning stripe fabrics make it a little tricky by being stretchy plus the whole thing is biased. (In sewing terms . Although the fabric may also be biased in favor of Kaffe.) Once I knew the quilt could be delivered almost to the recipient's door, I worked to get it quilted and finished within the last few weeks. It is now safely in its owner's hands. Backing, Binding and Quilting I love that the quilting pattern changes the look of the squares depending on the background color. The copper thread was an inspired choice by the shop. It stands out on the darker fabrics but fades complete...
