MALAY REGIME MALAY REGIME Ahad, 8 September 2024 REVOLUSI IRAN 1979 Hari ini 46 tahun yang lalu, berlaku pembunuhan beramai-ramai di Tehran yang menjadi kemuncak meletusnya Revolusi Iran. Selepas kudeta 1953, Shah (Raja) Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi bersekutu dengan AS & Barat untuk mengukuhkan kuasanya sebagai pemerintah mutlak negara itu. Beberapa tahun kemudian, dilancarkan Revolusi Putih - sebuah program modenisasi agresif. Walaupun secara ekonominya berjaya, kekayaan tak diagih seadilnya kepada rakyat. Pada masa sama, rakyat ditekan oleh rejim Pahlavi daripada terlibat dalam politik & protes sering dipatahkan dengan ugutan, penahanan & kekerasan. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, bekas profesor falsafah di Qom mengkritik keras rejim Pahlavi, menyebabkannya dibuang negeri pada 1964. Pada Januari 1978 apabila Khomeini difitnah oleh akhbar tempatan 'Eṭṭelāʿāt', ribuan pelajar madrasah turun ke jalanan. Protes kemudian disertai ribuan lagi anak muda, mengundang tindakan kera...
